The Nutcracker Project: Winter’s Dream

The Nutcracker Project: A Winter’s Dream was a contemporary reimagining of the classic ballet, developed as a large-scale interdisciplinary production bringing together emerging creatives from across the University of the Arts London and external industry collaborators. Conceived, produced, and creatively directed by Jasmine Eldogdog and choreographed by Daniela Delerci, the project united a team of over 40 artists working across costume, ballet, stage management, set construction, props, technical theatre, photography, film, marketing, and illustration to create a professional-standard live performance rooted in collaboration and performance storytelling.

Alongside leading the overall artistic vision and production development, Jasmine worked as lead costume designer and maker, developing and constructing key costumes for the production through corsetry, embellishment, textile experimentation, dye work, and hand-finished detailing. The project explored the relationship between costume, movement, and theatrical world-building while creating opportunities for young creatives to work within an industry-style production environment. Developed through months of rehearsals, fittings, fundraising, creative direction, and collaborative production management, the ballet became both a live performance and a celebration of emerging creative community, craftsmanship, and contemporary performance-making.
